YOUTH DISCIPLESHIP PROGRAM

We are so excited that you are considering involvement in Stillwood’s Youth Discipleship Program. In YDP, we aspire in all that we do to “Learn to Lead like Jesus Together”. This is our core mission, our motto. We believe that all youth need and deserve the opportunities and encouragement to fulfill the design that God has created for them. YDP is exactly that. YDP provides the atmosphere and resources for youth aged 14-18 to discover more about themselves and who God has created them to be. With a mixture of work experience, adventure, theology, and leadership training, it is our hope that through this program youth will develop the skills and abilities to grow into adulthood with confidence.
STAGE ONE: EXPLORE
Think of Explore like a taste-test. Throughout this immersive week-long experience, participants are treated to a glimpse into the world of serving at camp. The primary focus of this initial stage is to foster a strong sense of community and instil the fundamentals of discipleship, all while intertwining acts of service and fun. Having completed Explore, we hope that every participant has grown in their faith and has a better picture of what it means to serve at camp. Whether you’re ready to dive head first into the world of summer camp, or just looking to dip your toes in, Explore is the program for you. Individuals may register for multiple weeks of the Explore stage.

STAGE TWO: EQUIP
The second stage of YDP, Equip challenges participants to step deeper into discipleship and service. Participants engage in team-building activities, service tasks, Bible sessions, and fun events , all with the goals of personal and group growth. With a focus on cultivating good work habits, understanding Christ-like leadership and practicing servanthood, Equip leads participants to strengthen themselves and also contribute to the thriving community around them. Individuals will also have the opportunity to obtain a FoodSafe Level 1 certificate, adding a valuable skill to their repertoire. Add all this together, and you get Equip: an immersive experience that leaves a lasting impact on all who partake in it.

STAGE THREE: EMPOWER
The Empower stage offers personalized camp experiences where participants can pursue their unique passions. During one of their weeks, participants will immerse themselves in a “placement”, serving, shadowing and learning in an area of their choosing. Participants also continue learning through Bible sessions, leadership training, serving together, and bonding over shared community experiences. This program nurtures talents, fosters personal growth, and explores the application of experiences and faith outside of camp. Participants also receive Emergency First Aid training during an Empower-exclusive retreat. Equipped with necessary tools, participants can learn to positively impact others and make a difference in the world.

*July 26-28* is the Empower Retreat, which includes the First Aid Training date.

The cost of the YDP program depends on your level of subsidy. Each participant can choose their own subsidy level as seen here.
